The Lodge at Big Falls is offering a great value family summer special taking visitors to Lubaantun where the most famous crystal skull was discovered in 1926.
Tour the ruins and picture the ball games and rituals that took place on that very spot more than a thousand years ago. Explore further away from the main well-maintained plazas where the jungle and ruins are entangled and little excavation has been done. Imagine yourself in Mitchell-Hedges party in 1926 wandering through an unexplored civilization disguised by the undergrowth.
Join a local Mayan family for lunch and taste the traditional rice, beans and corn and cocoa drink that have remained part of the staple diet for centuries
Embark in kayaks at the village of San Miguel. It is the same Rio Grande that Mitchell Hedges and his daughter Anna navigated inland from its mouth just north of present day Punta Gorda. You will float around the meandering course downstream towards Big Falls where you will get out at the Lodge itself.

- Departure Tax US$35 per person airport departure tax
- Air Transfers Add US$208 per person for return flights from and to Belize International Airport. The Lodge can book your internal air transfers on your behalf.
- Government taxes of 9% on accommodation and 10% General Sales Tax on all other items (Total tax on package is between 9-10%)
